It’s been a while since its digital release, but we wanted to be sure that UP fans had heard about ‘Optimism’ – a joint album project between UP’s Ak iLL and Focus Records’ Dj iLLogik, which is recently being re-released on vinly! Bringing together the sound of both Maryland and Michigan, the project is a nod to old school hip hop with a definitive conscious vibe.
‘Optimism’ features production from FlexVocal (MI), Dj Zest (MI), and Isaac Leo (MD), and cuts by Dj iLLogik. The project was mixed by Jason Nixon and mastered by Steve Weatherbie (Crossworm), and features guest appearances from UP’s own, Apogee, as well as some veterans in the underground scene, including Journalist 103, Chris Orrick, Noveliss, and El Da Sensei.
‘Optimism’s is available on all digital platforms and available on clear and smoke vinyl (merch packages available at links below!).
